"Almost exactly 5 years ago, I paid $349 for an 8-week class on how to start a podcast. Spoiler alert: I did not start a podcast 5 years ago. I didn’t even finish the class." SO relatable! 😅
Congrats on shipping your first audio/video episode, Abby—what a fascinating topic and subject. (Also, your Timeshifter reference is reminding me to thank you for bringing the app to my attention. I'll be using it for a lengthy plane ride next month!)
Thanks, Maddie! Exciting that you’re heading somewhere a lengthy plane ride away soon. Loved your series about your family’s international travels and can’t wait to read your own observations when you return.
So much of interest to think about here. It’s interesting to think about freezing your post-college lifestyle, to preserve options. I think your friends expect a better sofa after a while, but I love the overall idea. It also adds some humility to your life, in addition to choices. Thanks for this!
I'm so glad you found value in this post, Mary. And great point about adding humility (or maintaining it). I've also found it's a way of communicating our values to our kids -- especially now that they've started to notice and comment on their friends' cars/houses/etc.

This means the world to me—thanks, Abby! 🥹
